Hi, I’m Celeste! Think of me as your personal decluttering guide. I’m here to help you get started, stay on track, and conquer all that clutter weighing you down. I’m passionate about helping you simplify your home so that you can live a clutter-free life. I truly believe that decluttering can (and will) change your life.
Your home should be a place where you can go to rest and recharge–it shouldn’t be a source of stress and worry! Your home should be a reflection of who you are, and most importantly, it should work for you and your family! It’s my goal to help you turn your home into that restful, clutter-free haven.
I truly believe that YOU are the best person to declutter your home. Nobody knows your home and the things in it better than you do. I believe that you are completely capable of doing this… even if you’re lacking time and motivation… even if your house is overflowing with clutter… even if your family isn’t supportive… even if you just have NO IDEA where to start. (Hello, that’s what I’m here for!)
My friend, you are MORE than capable of decluttering your home. And it doesn’t have to be this huge undertaking. In fact, it can be quite simple.
If you’re ready to begin your decluttering journey, click here to get started. Good luck decluttering! I know you can do it!
About Me
I can never turn down a good craft or DIY project. I combined that creative spirit with my love for writing, and this site was born. I love being near the water, and I have spent the majority of my life near it, so Decor by the Seashore just felt like the perfect name. I mainly write about topics related to the home, but every now and then I share a glimpse of life behind the scenes.
I just found your site through I Gotta Create! I love your philosophy of repurposing. I look forward to seeing more of your blogs. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much, Christine! I am always trying to repurpose and get as many different uses out of things as possible, so I think you’ll enjoy a lot of the projects here! 🙂
Hi Celeste. I am in Australia and love your tips. I have recently reacquainted myself with a past love, which is art, sewing, DIY, anything like that . Really had no choice – busy nurse in ICU, shift work, no time…Yada yada. Broke my leg in a fall & some hiccups there, but that’s irrelevant. I spread out all the stored stuff I had because I wanted to create. Once I made the spread around mess and realized how much stuff I had, I was overwhelmed. Too much! Your articles have gotten me so much more determined to be organize it. I have also learned that you have to create to feed the mind. Learning to smell the roses. Cheers, Sharon
Sharon, I’m so sorry to hear you broke your leg, but so glad that you’ve once again found the time to DIY. It means so much to me to hear that my posts are helping you sort through the clutter so you can get started crafting and creating once again. There is no better way to feed the soul! Best of luck!
Celeste, Thanks so much! Your Declutter messages/tips are FINALLY some which are reaching me…and trust me, I’ve read plenty!! Or maybe – finally – I’m just ready to RECEIVE the messages coming my way, from you. — Yesterday I managed to clear two small occasional tables (catch-all’s) in my Living Room. They were filled with much unsolicited mail that I’d marked “Read” …or worse yet, “File” !! (Like for what?? And for when??) I did read a number of them, and then finally tossed all the rest WITHOUT reading…OR filing! Ya, it was a small step in my decluttering…but SO great to see the tops of those two flat surfaces again! So MANY THANKS, for the “push” I’m getting from your messages.

I live in one small room of a perfectly minimized home. It is Mid Century modern and spotless mostly and clutter free. My problem is that the one room and my car tend to get overwhelmed by the “Stuff” that I need on a daily basis.
Thank you so much for all yr tips. We live in a small house so decluttering is important.
